Winster Shop – Half Year Sales
We are pleased to report that, in spite of a lack of visitors to Winster over the recent months, the sales are holding up well. This is clearly down to the support and commitment shown by villagers in the community and to the hard work from the Shop Managers and staff during a most difficult period – and well supported by a dedicated team of volunteers.
The Board, would like to express their sincere thanks to customers , staff and volunteers for their ongoing commitment and support to our community asset.
At the end of September (our half year), sales were £220k. This is £26k lower than 2019, which should come as no surprise given the current COVID19 situation. The reduction in our monthly outgoings due to the mortgage being paid off will, however, aid the business through the coming Winter months, a time when we historically experience a reduced level of sales and profit.
The Shop looks fantastic with the excellent window display and other festive decorations provided by volunteers. There is also a wide range of Christmas goodies now available to encourage you to continue to use your shop before, during and after Xmas !
